Annular solar Eclipse| Dec 26, 2019


An Annular solar eclipse occurs when the sun and the moon are in line with the earth, but we know that the moon's orbit is elliptical, hence sometimes, due to large distance between the earth and the moon, the apparent size of moon can't cover the sun completely.

So a beautiful phenomenon occurs, that is called as " Ring of Fire ".


In the above image you can see the max eclipse which was partial from the Goa.

The first contact was observed at 8:03 am, the max eclipse at 9:23 am and last contact at 11:00 am.

Telescope used - 114/500 mm used

Filter used - BaaderBaader solar filter

Camera used - asus 13 mp mobile camera (with k25 mm eyepiece projection method)

Softwares used - PIPP ( planetary imaging pre processor) and Registax for video stacking.

In the image it is a false colour of the sun and the collage made with Photoshop cc.
